Questions, answered

I'm completely new to case interviews. Can I use Aurora?
Yes. Start in Learn mode and Aurora walks you through each part of the case. Once the approach feels familiar, move to hints and then to full interview mode without coaching.
How realistic are the cases?
Cases are designed to recreate the dynamics of a consulting interview: open-ended questions, exhibits, quantitative work, follow-ups and a final recommendation. You can practice both interviewer-led and candidate-led formats.
Can I practice by speaking?
Yes. Every case can be completed in voice or text. Voice lets you practice explaining your structure, calculations and recommendation out loud, just as you will need to in an interview.
How is this different from practicing with a case partner?
A case partner is valuable, especially for practicing live interaction. Aurora gives you another source of practice whenever you want it, with consistent feedback across the same five dimensions after every case. The two work well together.
How does Aurora score my performance?
Every case is evaluated across structuring, quantitative reasoning, business judgment, synthesis and communication. You receive a score for each area, evidence from your answers and specific suggestions for what to practice next.
What types of cases can I practice?
The library includes profitability, pricing, market entry, M&A, market sizing, growth and other common case formats across multiple difficulty levels.
Will my score tell me whether I'll pass my real interview?
No. GradGuide shows how you are performing against its practice rubric and where you can still improve. Your result in a real interview depends on the firm, interviewer, case and your performance on the day.
Is Aurora affiliated with Bain, McKinsey or BCG?
No. GradGuide is an independent product. The consulting module was developed by Jeff, a former Bain consultant, and tested with consultants and interviewers from leading firms, but it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Bain, McKinsey, BCG or any other consulting firm.
